Environment
Alton8 recognise that our business has a significant impact on the environment and we must therefore act responsibly. We have a number of policies in place which directly or indirectly reduce our environmental impact. These include flexible working to reduce travel time, use of laptops to prevent monitors on standby, and re-use and recycling of materials. However we also know we could do more. A report in 2007 revealed we could reduce our carbon footprint by 15% by implementing some relatively simple measures such as increased homeworking, use of green energy tariffs, offsetting and use of green energy bulbs. We will be looking closely at how to achieve these.
Staff
We offer our staff flexible working hours and a comfortable working environment with appropriate equipment. Many of our employees are parents with childcare responsibilities and we accomodate their needs wherever possible including part time working. We recently commissioned a staff fairness report which concluded that we operate the business in an unbiased way in areas such as age, gender, race and religion.
Suppliers
We value our suppliers and treat them as we wish to be treated ourselves. This includes paying on time.
